COMPOSITION:
AMOXIPEN 250 diy powder for suspension each 5ml contains :
Amoxicillin Trihydrate BP equiv. to Amoxicillin 125mg. Flucloxacillin Sodium Monohydrate BP equiv. to Flucloxacillin 125mg AMOXIPEN 500 capsules, each capsule contains:
Amoxicillin Trihydrate BP equiv. to Amoxicillin 250mg. Flucloxacillin Sodium Monohydrate BP equiv. to Flucloxacillin 250mg
PROPERTIES:
AMOXIPEN is a broad spectrum antibiotic formulation which has the properties and the stability offlucloxacitlin against penicillinase producing organisms, and has the microbactericidal effects against most of J ram-positive and gram-negative micro organisms such as:
treptococcus, Staphylococcus, Neisseria, E.coli, Proteus mirabilis, and Salmonella.
INDICATIONS:
1 -Upper and lower resiratory tract infections such as, otitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, throat and nose infections.
2-Urogenital tract infections such as urethritis, cystitis, pyelonephritis, prestatitis.
3-Skin and soft tissue infections.
4-Bone and joint infections.
5-As prophylaxis of bacterial endocarditis or abscess after minor surgery such as tonsillectomy, tooth extraction as well as those who have changed their heart valves .
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
AOXIPEN is not given to individuals who have previous penicillin or cephalosporin allergy.
SIDE EFFECTS:
AMOXIPEN is well tolerated, and side effects - are few - and less frequent in oral than parenteral AMOXIPEN therapy, and are usually of a mild transitory nature . Such eruptions, urticaria, nausea, diarrhea, jaundice and indigestion . But these undesirable symptoms are with drawn after the discontinuation of treatment.
INTERACTIONS:
AMOXIPEN decreases the effectiveness of chloramphenicol, erythrom-ycine,tetracyclin, contraceptives and loperamide, but the blood level of AMOXIPEN is increased in concomitant administration with probeni-cid
- Use with caution while using it with anticoagulants.
PRECAUTIONS:
Treatment is stopped wlien any allergic symptom appears . It can be used in case of renal failure under medical supervision . Physician has to be consulted before using AMOXIPEN in case of pregnancy or lactation, as. Amoxicillin is excreted through the milk during lactation .
DOSAGE:
Children : 250mg/5ml Dry powder for Suspension :
1 month to 2 years : 1/2 - f spoonful every 8 hrs. or according to severity of the infection .
2 years to 10 years : 1 - 2 spoonful every 8 hrs. or according to
severity of the infection.
Adults : AMOXIPEN 500 capsules. 1 - 2 capsules every 8 hrs. according to the severity of infection .
PREPARATION OF THE SUSPENSION:
Fill half the bottle with drinking-water, shake well and then add water to the mark in the ticket on the bottle. Shake well before use, and store in refrigerator, the suspension is usable for 7 days .
