COMPOSITION:
Each F.C. Tablet contains: Propyphenazone 175 mg Caffeine 25 mg
PROPERTIES:
TOLIDON is an effective analgesic, it combines the potent analgesic and antipyretic effects of Propyphenazone (a pyrazolone derivative) with the central nervous system stimulant effect of caffeine, also caffeine enhances the analgesic effect of propyphenazone.
TOLIDON has rapid onset of action, it provides potent and extra relief of pain and dose not impair the mental activity.
INDICATIONS:
TOLIDON is used for the treatment of pain such as:
- Headache, toothache, post dental extraction pain.
- Pain in rheumatic disease, e.g. arthritis and other muscloskeletal disorders.
- Post-traumatic pain and post-operative pain.
- Dysmenorrhea pain.
- TOLIDON relieves pain and fever in colds and influenza.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Hypersensitivity to pyrazolone derivative.
- Porphyria.
- Glucose 6-phosphate-dehyrogenase deficiency.
SIDE EFFECTS:
It may cause nausea, hypersensitivity reactions,palpitations and rarely leucopenia.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
- The drug should not be given concomitanfly with hypnotics or psychomatic drugs and other analgesics.
- The patient should be observed carefully when given this drug with oral contraceptive and anticoagulants.
PRECAUTIONS:
- It should not be taken continuously over a prolonged period or in doses higher than recommended, except under medical supervision.
- It should be used with caution in patients with severe hepatic or renal disorders.
- Avoid drinking too much tea or coffee during treatment with TOLIDON.
- It should be used with caution during pregnancy and lactation.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Adults: 1-3 tablets daily. It may be increased to 6 tablets according to doctor's opinion, and the severity of the pain.
Children over 6 years: 1 -2 tablets/day, and it may be increased to 3 tablets if needed or according to doctor's opinion.
Should be swallowed with some liquid.
