Composition:
Each ctd. tab. contains : 400mg Ibuprofen.
Each ctd. tab. contains : 600mg Ibuprofen.
Each ctd. tab. contains : 800mg Ibuprofen .
Each 5ml suspension contains : 100mg Ibuprofen.
Properties:
IPOFENE is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent, with anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic and antirheumatic properties, and . it is an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase, which results in the inhibition of the prostaglandin synthesis.
IPOFENE is well tolerated and is suitable for long-term therapy . IPOFENE RETARD is formulated to show down release of the active substance, so the gastrointestinal effects is reduced.
Indications:
* IPOFENE is used for the relief of mild to moderate pain such as:
headache, toothache, and postoperative pain and for temporary reduction of fever
* IPOFENE is used in the treatment of: inflammatory and rheumatic disorders such as : rheumatoid arthritis, sprains and strains.
Contraindications:
* Active peptic ulceration .
* Hypersensitivity to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents .
* Pregnancy.
Side effects:
Nausea, vomiting, bleeding and ulceration of gastrointestinal tract ,skin rashes, headache, dizziness, bronchospasm, and acute renal failure.
Precautions:
* IPOFENE should be used with caution in patients with asthma, bleeding disorders and liver or renal failure.
*The concomitant use of more than one NSAID should be avoided because of the increased risk of adverse effects.
Drug interactions:
* IPOFENE increases the plasma concentrations of Digoxin and lithium, methotrexate.
* IPOFENE reduces the effects of diuretics.
* Care is required in those who are receiving cumarin anticoagulants.
Dosage and administration:
IPOFENE should be taken after meals .
Adults : 1 - 2 tablets daily in divided food.
Under 2 years : under supervision of physician .
Children 2-3 years : 1 teaspoonful (5 ml)
Children 4-5 years : 1 Vi teaspoonful
Children 6-8 years : 2 teaspoonful
Children 9-10 years : 2 Vt teaspoonful
Children over 11 years : 3 teaspoonful
Dosage can be adjusted depending on the bodyweight; (20 mg / kg) daily in divided doses.
