PROPERTIES:
The active ingredients of this drug are Miconazole and Metronidazole which provide an important Synergistic effect against wide range species of fungal infections and parasitical infections in genitourinary tracts.
INDICATIONS:
- Urogenital trichomoniasis.
- Aerobic and Anaerobic infections.
- Post operative infections.
- Amebiasis infections.
- Infections of Candida Albicans
- Infections of Fungal origins.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug.
-Pregnant women infected with trichomonas during the first trimester of the pregnancy.
PRECAUTIONS:
-This drug should be given carefully to patients with hepatic or renal disfunction (Malfunction).
- Avoid concurrent administration of alcohol with the drug.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
It has been reported that Miconazole or Metronidazole may potentiate the ontic-oagulant effect of warfarine or after coumarin anticoazulants; resulting in a bro-longation of prothrombin time.
- Concurrent administration of Phenytion and Phenobarbital with this drug may lead to hyperactivity and efficacy of hepatic enzymes which accelerates the excretion of the drug and its metabolism and may lead as a result of this effect to decrease us level in the blood.
- Its effect on lab test: It may affect some results in the serum tike SGOT, SGPT LDH, TG and some results may reach to zero value.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
In the treatment of trichomonas and amebiasis: one ovule inserted in the vagina before bed time for one week.
